2012 Tesla Model S spied

Here are the spy shots of the 2012 Tesla Model S, during some hot-weather testing in Death Valley, USA.

The electric sedan looks like it is still deep in development. Inside the car, which doesn't even have a complete dash or steering wheel yet. But Tesla has previously said the Model S is due in mid-2012 and that is still a year from now.

The Model S's top variant will have a range of 300 miles (483 km) on a single charge and a QuickCharge system taking only 45 minutes to top off the EV’s battery. The car is equipped by an electric motor with 42 kWh lithium-ion battery that enables the Model S to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 5.6 seconds and reached a top speed of 201 km/h.
