BMW's six 1-series Variants

To better compete with the third-generation Audi A3, new Mercedes A-class and the Mk7 Volkswagen Golf. The second-generation BMW 1-series will eventually evolve into six different variants in the coming years.

The most notable are two front-wheel-drive models, a test of BMW. It will pave the way for the third-generation 1-series in 2018, which will use only front-wheel-drive.

2011/12 - Five-door and three-door hatches.

 2013 - Coupe and Cabriolet.

 2014 - Front-drive GT Crossover and Estate.

2018/2019 - Third-gen 1-series goes front-wheel-drive.
