Toyota Increases Production Capacity in Indonesia

On May 25, Toyota announced that they will invest $ 200 million to increase its car production capacity in Indonesia, to meet the increasing needs of the region.
Toyota said, early as 2013, they will increase annual production capacity at the Karawang plant in Indonesia to 40%. With investments ¥ 16.5 billion (US$ 200 million), Toyota will be able to produce 140,000 vehicles per year in Indonesia.
Currently, the Karawang plant is producing the Avanza sedan and Fortuner SUV. At this plant, besides meeting the demand in Indonesian market, Toyota also exported to countries such as Thailand, Philippines, South Africa and the Middle East.
