Fujian Daimler Opens R&D Center in China

According to National Business Daily, Fujian Daimler Automotive, a joint venture automobile between Daimler AG, Fujian Motors and China Motor Corporation, will invest in building a center for research and development (R&D) in Fuzhou, capital of the Fujian province, China.

Speaking in an interview, General Director Rene Reif said, the R&D center will be built by Fujian Motors and Daimler.

The center will be completed and put into operation late this year. The birth of this center is to perform the localization efforts of Daimler.

A large amount of money that Fujian Daimler to invest in this center is the most obvious evidence shows the commitment of this joint venture for their localization efforts.

Fujian Daimler hopes to sell 20,000 cars this year, more than doubled compared to 9,000 cars in 2010.
