Ford Receives Two 2011 Diesel Car Awards

Specifically, the new Ford Focus has appeared on the market since March, was named best diesel medium-sized car on the market. Which, Diesel Car magazine appreciated both versions 1.6 and 2.0 with different capacity levels.

“The Ford Focus is quite simply the best handling, most dynamically accomplished car in its class – the one the others have to match. We can say, this is the car set new standards for diesel cars on the world,” Ian Robertson, Diesel Car editor said.


Meanwhile, the Mondeo was named best in the medium car segment. The Mondeo is equipped a TDCi 1.6-liter engine, burning only 3.58-liter/100 km of diesel and CO2 emissions 114 g/km. Ford Mondeo five-door and Station Wagon will be equipped with standards Auto-Start-Stop system.

“The Mondeo delivers driving dynamics that are second-to-none. There’s a magic about the way this car handles.  It is superbly nimble and poised, with great handling and excellent steering feel that crisply communications what’s happening down there at the road surface,” Robertson said about all diesel Mondeo models.

"This is a sizeable market for Ford, with 45% of Focus and 86 % of Mondeos," Jon Wellsman, Ford Britain sales director confirmed.
