According to Mercedes-Benz, the three-layered fabric soft top will not eat in the roadster model’s trunk area as its capacity remains at 173-liter with the roof either open or closed, and is roughly the same to that of the Coupe. The roof opens and closes in 11 seconds. In addition, it can be operated while the move at speeds up to 50 km/h.
The SLS AMG Roadster is divided into three color versions - black, beige and a classic red. Like other open-top Mercedes cars, the SLS AMG Roadster is also equipped with the AIRSCARF system that warms the head and neck areas of the driver as well as passenger. Other standard features include heated AMG sports seats, a detachable glass windstop, DVD players, navigation systems, anti-theft alarm, dual-zone automatic climate control and the KEYLESSGO starting function.

Under the bonnet, the SLS AMG Roadster is equipped with 6.3-liter V8 engine like the Coupe, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. In the U.S. market, the SLS AMG Roadster is equipped with a V8 engine, naturally aspirated, capacity of 563 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the European model is rated at 571 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
