2011 Porsche Cayman S Black Edition

Similar to the 911 and Boxster, Porsche has released a special edition of the Cayman S dubbed the Cayman S Black Edition. Developed to mark of the end of the current Cayman before the next-generation Porsche Boxster released, the Cayman S Black Edition will be limited to just 500 units worldwide.

The Cayman S Black Edition is equipped with a 3.4-liter flat-six engine, capacity of 330 horsepower similar to the Cayman R, distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels finished in black and a more premium interior.


Compared to the standard version, the Cayman S Black Edition extra 10 horsepower. Meanwhile the maximum torque remains unchanged at 272 lb-ft at 4750 rpm.

The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds with the six-speed manual transmission and 5.0 seconds with a PDK dual clutch unit. With the launch control activated on the optional PDK Sport Chrono package, acceleration can get as low as 4.8 seconds.

The top speed of the Cayman S Black Edition only slightly faster than over the Cayman S--278 km/h with the manual transmission and 277 km/h with the PDK.

The additional equipment for special edition includes bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, a Porsche Sport Design steering wheel, leather seats, special ‘Black Edition’ labeling, satellite navigation and a premium sounds system.

The new special edition goes on sale this July. It will be priced from $ 68,450, help customers save more than over equipped accessory package equivalent.
