2012 Volkswagen Beetle Officially Revealed

After more than a decade of existence, new version replaces for Volkswagen New Beetle has official appeared before Shanghai Auto Show and New York Auto Show opening. Volkswagen's rookie only simply called the 2012 Beetle.

Compared with older versions, the new Beetle provides a feeling feeling strong and luxury. The other notable highlights on the new Beetle include bi-xenon headlights, 19-inch wheels and sport exhausts.

2012 Volkswagen Beetle includes two versions, the first version is equipped with five-cylinder 2.5-liter engine, capacity of 170 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque (similar Jetta 2011), 5-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed automatic transmission.


The most advanced version is equipped with TSI 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, capacity of 200 hp, maximum torque of 207 lb-ft, 6-speed manual gearbox. Besides, customers can select with dual-clutch DSG 6-speed gearbox and XDS electronic differential instead.

In addition, Volkswagen also offer a TDI 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine for the new Beetle, capacity of 140 hp and maximum torque of 236 lb-ft. According to Volkswagen, the new Beetle fuel consumption is about 8.1 liters per 100 km in the city and 5.8 liters per 100 km on the highway.
