While earlier, VW has no plans to launch sports model car into the U.S. market, but now, VW officials have changed mind in order to meet the requirements of the VW enthusiast. Accordingly, Golf R will come to the U.S. market in 2012.
Golf R is considered a significant difference compared with normal Golf model about designs outside, do not use 3.2 V6 engine inspired by nature, rather to the engine 2.0 TSI turbocharged four-cylinder, capacity of 270 horsepower. This engine enables the car acceleration from 0-100 km per hour in just 5.7 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 250 km per hour.
However, Golf R version in the U.S. only equipped with manual gearbox. Although VW has not revealed information, but have information indicating, Golf R will be on display at the Detroit auto show in January 2011.
